What's His Deal?
Psalm
25:14 "...The
secret of the LORD is for those who fear Him, And He will make them
know His covenant..."
Does
God know things you don't? Does He have secrets He'll share? What's
His deal?
Do
we know more about His dislikes or His likes?
Can
we make an abomination list more easily than a list of what pleases
God?
Would
a concordance search on "pleased" give us a better
understanding of the Almighty?
He meets us in our
shame and embarrassment!
John
3:17 "...For God did not send the Son into the world to judge
the world, but that the world might be saved
through Him..."
John
4:7-29 Tells of a Samaritan woman with history of five husbands and a
live in.
John
8:1-11 Tells of a woman caught in adultery.
Is
the God "who never deserts you nor forsakes you" interested
in passing judgment, or is He interested in delivering people from
bondage?
Do
we have shame or embarrassment that would benefit from an honest
encounter with Jesus?
God is pleased to work
in you, as you work out your salvation.
Philippians
2:12-13 "...So then, my beloved, just as you have always
obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence,
work out your salvation with fear and trembling;
for it is God who is at work in you, both to
will and to work for His good pleasure..."
Salvation
isn't owned, it's worked out.
Salvation
isn't possessed, it's lived out.
Salvation
is God's Will, worked into your existence, for His pleasure.
The accomplishment of
Jesus made real in your life!
Luke
11:9-10 "...So I say to you, ask, and it will be
given to you; seek, and you will find;
knock, and it will be opened to you. "For
everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who
knocks, it will be opened..."
This
is not a "name it" and "claim it" statement by
Jesus.
The
context of Luke 11 is Jesus describing how to pray correctly, and
then giving an example of someone who needs help to care for another
person.
We
are to be asking for the kingdom to come, and for that which is
necessary to serve others.
In
this way, the accomplishment of Jesus becomes real in our lives.
Speak His Will into
existence and bring Him glory.
John
14:12-13 "...Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in
Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works
than these he will do; because I go to the Father.
"Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that
the Father may be glorified in the Son..."
Our
will is affected by where we live, and especially by the people with
whom we live.
To
abide in Christ is to reside with Him, to live with Him, and to
embrace His Will.
We
dare not fritter away our spiritual life due to lack of discipline
and perspective.
What
is the driving influence of your life, the center that ultimately
affects everything else?
Is
it His Deal?
