1Chronicles 4-7 mentions 12 tribes, but includes LEVI and doesn’t mention of DAN.
Fast forward to Rev.7:4-8 and there are 12,000 sealed from each of 12 tribes. Which tribes? No DAN, no EPHRAIM, but LEVI and JOSEPH included in list.
Where did Jeroboam commit place his golden calves? Bethel (in EPHRAIM) and DAN.

Recounts the death of Saul and sons, and how the men of Jabesh-Gilead recovered the bodies.
Why was Saul replaced? 10:13-14 “...Saul died for his trespass which he committed against the Lord, because of the word of the Lord which he did not keep; and also because he asked counsel of a medium, making inquiry of it, and did not inquire of the Lord. Therefore He killed him and turned the kingdom to David the son of Jesse...”
We need to hear and obey.

David becomes king of Israel, dwells in Zion.
Why did David become greater and greater? 11:9 1 “...David became greater and greater, for the Lord of hosts was with him...”
11:10-47 Recap of the mighty men, their loyalty (11:18 getting water from Bethlehem), their deeds (11:20 Abshai killing 300, 11:22 killing a lion in a pit on a snowy day).
The list of mighty men includes Uriah the Hittite (Bathsheba’s husband) to whom David was NOT loyal.

There were musicians, gatekeepers, treasurers, overseers., commanders, officers of tribes, overseers of property, counselors.
People with different gifts, working together!

David charges the people, and then Solomon, to:
28:8 "... observe and seek after all the commandments of the Lord your God so that you may possess the good land and bequeath it to your sons after you forever...”
28:9 “... know the God of your father, and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever...”
He will let you find Him? Yes, God’s in charge of this, too.

29:6 the people give willingly.
David recognizes that:
29:15 “... For we are sojourners before You, and tenants, as all our fathers were; our days on the earth are like a shadow, and there is no hope...”
29:17 "...Since I know, O my God, that You try the heart and delight in uprightness, I, in the integrity of my heart, have willingly offered all these things; so now with joy I have seen Your people, who are present here, make their offerings willingly to You...”
